Thanks to those who have been attending our Me & Ed's gigs. It's a good place to ry out new material and do some experimentation. Also about 9:00 pm when the "non-music" people leave it's turning into a mini concert hall. I look forward to this part of the gig hope to see you there! Check our schedule for dates.

Banjo stuff

People often ask about my favorite gauges for banjo strings.
I use GHS strings:
Ist - 9.5, 2nd - 11, 3rd - 13, 4th - 22, 5th - 9.5

I also like to keep one of my banjos tuned down to open "E" or "F"
If you haven't tried it before it's a great sound.
1st - 10, 2nd - 12, 3rd - 14, 4th - 24, 5th - 10

People also ask what are the best banjos to start... For those of you starting to play banjo these are the models I recommend. It pays to spend a little more and avoid the cheap imports. Not saying this because I endorse Deeering Banjos... they just happen to be the best for what I'm discussing here.
